DualReader (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: When you sign up, we collect your email address and authentication credentials (or OAuth tokens if you use Google sign-in).

Uploaded content: Documents you upload (TXT, EPUB, PDF, DOCX) are stored to provide the translation and reading service.

Usage data: We collect basic analytics such as pages visited, features used, and reading progress to improve the service.

Payment information: Payment details are processed by our payment providers (Stripe, Portone). We do not store your full card number on our servers.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To provide and maintain the translation and reading service
• To process your uploaded documents for translation
• To process payments and manage your subscription
• To send transactional emails (account verification, password resets)
• To improve the service based on aggregate usage patterns

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

• Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage
• AI translation providers (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) — document content is sent to these services for translation. Content is processed according to their respective privacy policies and is not used to train their models when accessed via API.
• Stripe / Portone — payment processing

4. Your API Keys

If you provide your own API keys, they are encrypted at rest and used only to make translation requests on your behalf. We never share your API keys with other users or third parties.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on Supabase-managed infrastructure. We use encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production systems is restricted and logged. While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no system is completely secure.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your uploaded documents and personal data will be permanently deleted within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregate data may be retained for analytics purposes.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Export your uploaded documents at any time
• Withdraw consent for optional data processing

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

9. Children's Privacy

DualReader is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
